Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Hello loves!

So I wanted to share with you guys my constant struggle with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Each day I am slowly coping with the abdominal pain and learning  which foods I can actually eat and not have a tummy ache.

For those of you that don't know what IBS is, well the www.mayoclinic.org defines it as:
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects the large intestine (colon). Irritable bowel syndrome commonly causes cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea and constipation. IBS is a chronic condition that you will need to manage long term.

As I myself am learning more about it, it's crazy to me that the symptoms can vary depending on what mood I'm in that day. For example, if I am feeling down or tired, my symptoms can increase, per say my pain will become more painful.

It's a hard thing to deal with, especially because your not bale to eat or drink foods that any person would normally be able to consume without causing some pain or bloating. It's easy to remember the foods that may cause the pain or bloating but if you're trying out new foods and won't remember what it was or how you felt after, it's convenient to write it down,  which is why I try to keep a food diary, where I jot down what foods I ate that day, and next to the foods, I will write down my reactions & symptoms to it.

There is no exact diet or meal plan that all IBS patients can take because it varies for everyone. So just keeping track of your diet and your reactions is helpful. Also, seeing a nutritionist works wonders. My nutritionist was able to give me a meal plan customized for myself and told me which nutrients and vitamins to take so I won't miss out on some protein or vitamins that some types of food will normally provide for you.

Do any of you have IBS or IBD? I would love to hear how you cope with it.

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful Wednesday.
